COLOURFUL & Alternative Staffordshire Wedding at The Boat House, Aston Marina
Bryn & Sarah’s Colourful, Chaos-Filled, Spanish-Sausage-Blessed Wedding
Some couples you just know you're meant to photograph—and Bryn and Sarah were one of those. I met them at a wedding fair, and within about 30 seconds of hearing their plans, I screamed (yes, actually screamed), “Pick me!”Luckily, they did—and what a wedding it turned out to be.
A Little Weather Witchery (with Chorizo)
The night before the wedding, I texted Sarah and told her she needed to bury a sausage to guarantee good weather. Obviously. They didn’t have any British bangers to hand, so she messaged Bryn, who dug around (literally) and found a Spanish sausage instead. Into the earth it went, with their dogs no doubt eyeing up the burial site with suspicion.
And you know what? It totally worked. We had full-on Spanish sunshine all day long. You’re welcome.
The Ceremony: Love, Laughter & Local Charm
Sarah and Bryn tied the knot at Sarah’s local church—a sweet, sentimental space that meant the world to them. After the vows and happy tears (mainly Bryn’s, let’s be honest), we took a few portraits in the lovely church garden, soaking up that sunshine and the sheer joy of it all.
The Boat House Bash at Aston Marina
Then it was off to The Boat House at Aston Marina for a reception that was anything but traditional.
Let’s talk about the details—because they were chef’s kiss. Think tarot cards as table names, a fantastic caricaturist capturing some hilarious faces, and nods to their tattooed lives and love of all things colourful, creative, and a little bit wild.
Everywhere you looked, there was personality. Nothing cookie-cutter, nothing stuffy—just 100% Bryn and Sarah.
Speeches, Sobs & So Much Dancing
The speeches? Emotional roller coaster. There were heartfelt words, roaring laughs, and yep—more tears from Bryn. (Honestly, I adore a groom who feels all the feels.)
As the evening rolled in, the music cranked up, and the dance floor turned into glorious chaos. I got picked up and physically deposited in the middle of it all to catch the carnage from the inside. Zero complaints.
The playlist? Absolutely banging. Everyone—and I mean everyone—was up dancing. The vibes were immaculate.
In Summary: 10/10 Would Do Again
Bryn and Sarah’s wedding was the kind of day that reminds me why I love what I do. It was bold, beautiful, emotional, hilarious, and filled with love from start to finish.
To Bryn and Sarah—thank you for trusting me, for burying that sausage, and for giving me a front-row seat to your wonderfully weird and wildly joyful day.
